Anderlecht campeão belga na temporada 1971-72, tendo como destaque o atacante Rensenbrink, vice-campeão das Copas do Mundo da Alemanha-74 e Argentina-78, com a seleção holandesa. Além de Rensenbrink, esse grande time do início da década de 70 cedeu jogadores à seleção local na Copa do México-70 e na Euro de 1972. Dockx, Van Himst, Verheyen e Van Binst, representaram a Bélgica no Mundial e no torneio continental. Van Binst, apenas na Euro 72. Van Himst também marcou seu nome na história do futebol belga por ser o maior artilheiro da seleção nacional, ao lado de Bernard Voorhoof, com 30 gols.

Besides of Rensenbrink, this great team of the start of the 70's gave at the local selection, players to the Word Cup México-70 and Euro-72. Dockx, Van Himst, Verheyen and Van Binst represented the Belgium in the World Cup and at continental tournament. Van Binst only at Euro-72. Van Himst also marked his name in belgian football history as the bigger scorer of the national team, beside Bernard Voorhoof, with 30 goals.
